Water Damage Mitigation & Restoration
Professional Water Damage Mitigation, Structural Drying & Restoration
Water damage requires systematic evaluation before work begins. HammerTime assesses the water source, contamination conditions, affected materials, and drying requirements — then performs the appropriate mitigation and restoration work.
Why Evaluation Comes First
Not every water loss is the same. The source of water intrusion, the contamination category, the materials affected, and how long moisture has been present all determine what work is appropriate. HammerTime evaluates each loss individually before recommending a scope of work — because the wrong approach can cause additional damage or leave hidden moisture behind.
What We Do
Water Damage Services
Water Damage Assessments
Systematic evaluation of the affected area, water source, contamination conditions, and material impact before any work begins.
Learn MoreWater Intrusion Investigations
Identifying the source of water entry — whether from roof damage, plumbing failure, foundation intrusion, or appliance malfunction.
Learn MoreMoisture Detection & Mapping
Using moisture meters and thermal imaging to locate hidden moisture in walls, ceilings, and subfloors beyond what is visually apparent.
Learn MoreWater Extraction
Removal of standing water and surface moisture using extraction equipment appropriate to the affected materials and volume.
Learn MoreStructural Drying
Controlled drying of structural materials using air movers, dehumidifiers, and monitoring equipment to reach established drying goals.
Learn MoreDehumidification
Reducing ambient humidity to support evaporation from wet materials and prevent secondary moisture migration to unaffected areas.
Learn MoreSelective Demolition
Removal of materials that cannot be safely dried in place — including saturated drywall, insulation, and flooring — to allow drying of structural components.
Learn MoreMoisture Monitoring
Daily or scheduled monitoring of drying progress using calibrated moisture meters to document progress toward drying goals.
Learn MoreCleaning & Preparation
Cleaning of affected surfaces and preparation of the work area for reconstruction following completion of the drying phase.
Learn MoreReconstruction & Repairs
Restoration of the property to pre-loss condition including drywall, insulation, flooring, ceilings, painting, and structural repairs.
Learn MoreCeiling Water Damage
Assessment and repair of water-damaged ceilings including drywall, plaster, insulation, and the identification of the source above.
Learn MoreWater-Damaged Flooring
Evaluation of hardwood, laminate, tile, and carpet affected by water intrusion — determining salvageability and performing appropriate repairs or replacement.

Water Damage Categories
Water damage is classified by contamination level. The category affects the required work scope, worker protection measures, and whether affected materials can be cleaned or must be removed.
Water from a sanitary source — supply line breaks, overflow from clean fixtures, or rainwater with no contamination. Category 1 losses have the most straightforward drying protocols when addressed promptly.
Water containing significant contamination that may cause illness if ingested. Sources include dishwasher or washing machine overflow, toilet overflow with urine only, and sump pump failures. Requires appropriate handling and cleaning.
Grossly contaminated water containing pathogens, sewage, or other harmful agents. Sources include sewage backups, flooding from rivers or streams, and toilet overflow with feces. Requires worker protection and affected porous materials are typically removed rather than dried.
Drying Classes
Drying class describes the amount of water absorption and the evaporation load. Class affects the equipment selection and expected drying time.
Least amount of water absorption. Only part of a room or area is affected, with minimal moisture in materials.
Significant absorption. Entire room affected with moisture wicking into walls and structural materials.
Greatest amount of evaporation load. Water may have come from overhead, saturating ceilings, walls, insulation, and subfloor.
Specialty drying situations involving dense materials — hardwood floors, concrete, plaster, or crawl spaces — that require longer drying times and specialized equipment.
Documentation & Insurance Support
HammerTime provides photographic damage documentation, moisture readings and mapping, written repair scopes, drying logs, and construction estimates. When authorized by the property owner, we communicate construction-related information with insurance adjusters. We do not provide public adjusting services or guarantee insurance claim outcomes.
Service Areas
